Cape Verde Weather

The excellent weather is one of the top highlights of Cape Verde.

The archipelago is endowed with favourable climate with annual temperatures ranging between 26ºC and 30ºC.

In addition, Cape Verde offers interrupted sunshine from November through May – ideal for unforgettable Cape Verde holidays.

Cape Verde experiences rainfall from June through October, but the rainfall is usually low meaning you don’t have to worry about visiting the island during the rainy season.

Cape Verde is also the coolest destination in West Africa as it enjoys almost year round cool Atlantic currents and offshore winds.

Between April to September (high season) and November and March (low season), the day time temperatures are usually high but the cool currents bring in some cooler winds and waters especially between 6am and noon. Cape Verde night can be quite cool especially during the low season.

Thanks to the excellent weather, there is no real best time to go to Cape Verde as the archipelago is a superb holiday destination all year round.

However, if you like to lie on the island’s beaches, then you should schedule your visit in the high season. The low season is ideal for those who like to visit places and take in the island’s tour attractions.
